The “MISSION” of the Association is to bring all serving and retired Seafarers together in a spirit of companionship, consideration, and commitment towards a united lobby for the
‘Community of the Sea’.

Full Membership of the Association is open to any person who has signed-on ships Articles plus MCA seagoing employees, lifeboat men, lighter men and fishermen. Application Forms are available from the MNA’s National Head Office or may be downloaded from either of our Websites, www.mna.org.uk and www.red-duster.co.uk

Successful applicants will be advised of their nearest branch. Any member who, for any reason, is unable to join a branch will be registered as a member of the National or the Overseas Branch as appropriate to their situation. A member may later apply, in writing, to change his or her branch but must give a reason for the request. No member may be a member of more than one branch of the MNA although all members are welcome in any branch and encouraged to join each others’ events. Together we make a bigger difference today.

The amount of the national subscription fee and the one-off initial registration fee is set by the members and may only be changed by approval of the members at an AGM; as it was in 2005, which was the first increase in the national subscription fee for three years. Any Branch membership fees are set by agreement of local members.
All subscription fees are due when a membership is confirmed and later on the first day of January in each succeeding year. A member joining after the 31st July, in any year, is only required to pay half the full rate of the national subscription fee. Any member failing to pay their fees on time will be ineligible to receive any national mailings, which includes their copy of Full Ahead, as well as any of their membership benefits. The payment of the subscription fee will be acknowledged by the issue of a membership card, sent within 21 days of receipt of your payment. We look forward to welcoming you aboard.

Membership Categories are as follows:-
Full Membership - that allows full voting and membership privileges plus the entire member benefits packages.
Associate Membership - that allows conditional voting, membership privileges and the entire member benefits packages.
Honorary Membership - that does not allow for any voting privileges.

UK ONLY - To Join between 1st July and 30th Nov (Part Year) £3.50 + £2 Joining Fee = £5.50 (Thereafter at the annual full price due 1st Jan)

New Overseas Members

OVERSEAS - To Join between 1st Dec and 30th June (Full Year) £12 + £2 Joining Fee =£14 (Membership year 1st Jan - 31st Dec)
OVERSEAS - To Join between 1st July and 30th Nov (Part Year) £6 + £2 Joining Fee = £8 (Thereafter at the annual full price due 1st Jan)
